We are beginning our exciting years in senior high and ending all of the fun times of junior high. We will no longer have Spring Daze or movies, but instead will be ordering class rings and making homecoming floats. We cher- ish the memories of our junior high years and are looking forward to creating new memories in the next three years. Bauleke. Mark Blaha. Mike Boechee. Paul Brahee. Marlin Bnstlin. Throughout Minnesota spiraling costs, de- clining enrollments, state budget cuts, and the overall uncertainty of what was next to come, made the job of an administrator increasingly difficult. Belle Plaine is fortunate to have a very experienced group of people leading us. Dr. Bartholow has served the district for 17 years. Mr. Clymer has been the senior high principal the past two years, preceded by a 6 year stint as junior high principal. Mr. Lowell Hoffman is completing his second year as junior high principal. We thank all the administrators for yet another suc- cessful year at BPHS. SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS — DR. JOHN BARTHOLOW 1982-1983 SCHOOL BOARD: FRONT: Pat Schwartz, Don Koepp, Joanne Johnson. The class of 1983 became like one big family the week of homecoming. Everyone gathered in the halls, library, and gym to help make signs and decorate for the big event. Included was a Chaplain talking on crime and prisons, Mrs. Bahr's moving speech on alco- holism, an acrobat on a trampoline and a performance by the Fargo, North Dakota High School swing choir. We would like to thank the student council for bringing these entertaining programs to the students at BPHS. I First say to yourself what you would be, and then do what you have to do. 107 Miiti Courses Mini Courses were held February 9, 10, and 11. The three fun filled days gave the students a break from their regular classes and a chance to learn new skills and lifelong hobbies. The most popular classes were downhill skiing, roller skating, sport tours, and LeSueur Community Center recreation. It was a week to remember. He was a quiet and reserved sort of guy, but always had a smile on his face. That smile will always be remembered. To Gary: The sandcastles of yesterday's play were still on the beach It was early I watched the golden sun quietly appear above the water I listened to the waves as they roared on the shore I felt the cool windy mist as I hid under a blanket I smelled the fragrance of the salty ocean untouched by oil and chemicals and 1 thought of you and how I would have liked so much, for you to have shared this with me From: The Class of 1983 122 M NH I S Hope For The Best Prepare For The Worst And Take What Comes Good-bye B.P.H.S., Hello World. The class of 1983 was ninety-six of the most fantastic students ever in the history of B.P.H.S. They were young, friendly, bright, and enthusiastic and it showed all year long. It was a year of laughter and tears, of winning teams and teams that tried. It was a year of good-byes to high school friends but hello to a whole new world out there waiting. The yearbook couldn't have been completed without them! Thank you also to the business people of Belle Plaine for their financial support and to John Smith of the American Yearbook Company for his help. Final- ly, the Tigenan would like to congratulate the Class of 1983. As this yearbook has shown, you have brought credit to the school and to the community in academ- ics, leadership, service, athletics, and the arts. You are outstanding and we're proud of you. What Appears To Be The End May Really Be A New Beginning.
