Students who wish to participate memorize a prepared declamation and give it in a local church, The local winner competes in a county contest and the county winners advance to the district contest. The district winners then give their speeches at tha Ohio Pastor's Convention, where the state champion ls selected. There were four contestants in the local contest, which was held November 9, 1952 in the First Presbyterian Church. They were Shirley Swartz, a senior, Audrey Baughman and Judie Bates, sophomores, and Nancy Chamberlin, a Freshman. Shirley Swartz was judged the winner, with Nancy Chamberlin as alternate. Shirley received a bronze medal and then competed in the county contest at the Church of Christ in Bellefontaine. EFI? The F, F, A. during the past year sponsored a scrap drive and with the proceeds bought the blinds for the auditorium and agriculture study room. The chapter has also rented the land owned by the Belle Center Creamery, northeast of town, for farming this year. T'ey will run experiments and test plots on different crops which should be of local interest. Officers for '52-53 President................ .... ..........
