Unfortunately, Belle Center did not fare as well in basketball as they did in football. We played twelve league games and won three. We played four non-league games and won two. This record, however, does not give an accurate picture of the team. Several of these games were lost by only a few points and in several of them Belle Center led up to the last quarter only to fade and be beaten. In seven of these games Belle Center lost by a total of twenty-four points: less than four points a game. Only four will be lost by graduation this year: Gerald I-louchin, Thomas Millin, Paul Krouse, and David Brandyberry. Belle Center's Reserve Squad had a better season than the Varsity, winning ten and losing six. Football During the last of August in the fall of 1950 an entirely new sport was introduced into Logan County and Belle Center. Six Man Football. Essentially it is the same as eleven man football, but it is a faster game with emphasis on speed and deception rather than power. Even though Belle Center had the smallest and lightest of the four teams we still had a good season winning three and losing three. We.also ran up the highest score in the county against Lewistown-55 to 26. Next year Belle Center will have a more experienced team losing only three by graduation: Kenneth I-lesser, Paul Krouse, and David Brandyberry. The Girls' Softball team played three games this fall winning against Huntsville and losing to Lewistown and Lakeview. Ping-pong Last year in Ping-pong,. Belle Center won the boys' singles, Jim Templeton: boys' doubles, Jack Core and Don Houchin: girls' doubles, Alice Templeton and Jean Zahller. 32
