It affords an opportunity for members to continue their musical education and presents a very important type of music to the student body. SVUEET MUSIC, HARMONY XVe are quite proud of our string quartet-Hammond, McKelvcy, Kigerl, Sommer- ville-and of the standing they won at the Steubenville contest. JUMP BALL! NET BALL! LET BALL! The girls have heard these words many times while playing basketball, volleyball, or tennis in the gymnasium after school. These are only a few of the sports enjoyed by the G. A. A. members. However, they are limited to intramural competition and play days. Bellaire High School sponsored its first Play Day when our G. A. A. played hostess to five major schools in the valley. Sports, lunch, and dancing were the high- lights of the day. , FILES AND TYPEXWRITERS A file opens-outcomes a card-from a distance, typewriters can be heard leisurely clicking-all of this being skillfully done by the most able senior commercial students. These always smiling girls perform the many tasks of recording absences, mimeographing tests, or doing any other general office work. THE PLAY'S THE THING The lure of the footlights has a universal fascination, and the Drama club was organized with the purpose of not only presenting entertainment to the whole school, but of exercising and developing talent Thespianic powers: Amid grease paint. props, cues, and spotlights, many memories and lasting friendships have been. formed. 25

The concert band under the baton of Mr. Burdett, took an active part in many entertainments, football rallies, and concerts. They have journeyed many places to participate in Class A contests. 25
