Student Life It Was Great In '88 'Alt was great in '88! That was the theme not only for the year- book, but for many teachers and students alike. Students and teachers seemed to be deter- mined to make the 1987-88 school year the best one yet, and it seems they have succeeded. 'AI have fun everyday that I come to school, said Lemira Parks, sci' ence teacher. FHA Week and Homecoming Week were just a few of the many activities that went on during the school year. FHA Week, which was February 8-12 consisted of a week of fun-filled activities for everyone. However there was a more serious side to the fun. An AIDS movie was also presented to show the student body just how real the AIDS epidemic is. During Homecoming Week, which was Feb. 1-5, a western theme, Forever and Ever Amen, was provided. The Pep Club did a great job of making the week fun-Hlled for everyone. E fhe Watkins said, I had a lot of fun working on the Homecoming dec- orations. Jennifer Jenkins, 'sophomore, said, In my Zoology class, I es- pecially had a good time trying to dissect a worm. The whole time I was doing it, Mrs. Parks, Monte, and Tarita were laughing at me. I also always have fun at lunch break because then I get to talk and laugh with my friends. Although 1988 has been a great year, some students still protest that 1989 will be even better. Teresa Capps, junior, said, Of course 1989 will be a good year!
