To the Students of Bell City School: Anannualservesasarecordof past accomplishments. It ls a book of memories. As such, it does not re- flectthe true temper ofthe nationand world of which the school is a part. Today, the world is troubled and the American democracy that we hold so dear is facing a severe test at home and abroad. Many of the values your school has tried to impart become in- creasingly more important. As you take your place in the world, remember that the most vital component part of democracy is hu- man relations - respecting the dignity and the integrity of the individual and the group. May your future be so planned and managed that the lmpttmt experiences of you life will bring you both honor and satisfaction. Most of you will receive some knowledge of English, history, math, etc.g but the idea and attitude that you have acquired here are of the utmost importance. Some- times the intangibles that we receive ia school are just as important as the tangible things that we receive. For some of you this will be your first annual, and for others it will be your last. Whether you are a freshman or senior, you should treasure this book very much since it will cover some of the most eventful years of your life. So you who are underclasrmen, l would say strive for the higher ideals of life while you are here. To the sen- iors, I would say I hope that you have achieved some of the higher ideals of life and that your association and years have been pleasant ones at Bell City High School.
