The first stop was Kirkwood Lodge on the Lake of the Ozarks. Everyone seemed to have an enjoyable time at the lodge. The boys and girls were a little stiff at first and a little slow in getting into the swing of things, but it didn't take long to overcome this. Some of the activities for the boys and girls to enjoy were moonlight hayrides and wiener roasts on the beach, horseback riding, moonlightcruises on the lake, fishing, swimming, motor boat riding, movies, and just plain old loafing. On the last night that we were at the lodge, we were initiated into the Kirkwood Lodge Ozark School of Square Dancing. The picture on this page shows those who received square dancing diplomas as the result of graduating from the school. Everyone regretted leaving the lodge because by the third day, Bell City had taken over. We were the school that had been there the longest and we were showing the tricks we had learned to all of the newer schools which were coming in. After leaving the lodge we went to St. Louis via Jefferson City and saw the Browns and Detroit play a doubleheader in a Memorial Day doubleheader. We arrived at Bell City about Midnight, Friday, May 30. Morgans Furniture and Appliance Co., Advance, Mo. 22 Uregas Distributors, Cape Girardeau, Missouri ,,-L -Y' V V , 2 , xv x ' . U .
