Bell s of the Ball A , Eleanor Richards Ioan Olah Phyllis Thounhurst Helen Faye Hamilton Twilla King Under the capable supervision of Mrs. Smith, the Lion- ettes opened the season with an outstanding victory over Ex- port. When the Bell-Avon girls ventured to Saltsburg to meet the Trojanettes, our sextette held the lead to the fourth quarter, but Saltsburg defeated our lassies by five points. The Lionettes were not easily discouraged and came home to win nine games before coming up against a one point defeat by Hampton. After winning eighteen games and losing only two, the fighting six will prepare for the tournaments. The Girls Varsity Basketball team will lose five top players this year. They are: Eleanor Richards, Phyllis Thoun- hursr, Joann Olah, Helen Faye Hamilton and Twilla King. The Team In Action

There are fxve sen1ors on the team: Joe Stewart, John Weiss, Dennis Andritz, Jack Zerbini, and Ray Desimone. Under the able coaching of Mr. Charles Horne, the Lions should have another winning season next year.
