Reserve strength was a major factor in this year's winning team. To support his foundation of four returning starters., Coach Rugg added eight new ball players, four of which were junior college veterans. The four freshmen saw some action and should prove promising prospects for the future. Capturing first place in the Mississippi College Tourney, the Clan went on to take second place in the Magnolia Tournament falling only eight points short of Ole Miss. Later the Clansmen bagged second place in the Dixie Tourney at Memphis, losing the last game to Little Rock University. 166 Coach Charles Rugg
