Greetings to the class of 1988 It doesn't seem possible that graduation is upon us. In fact, your years at Belfast Central School represent just the beginning steps to a life long journey of learning The knowledge you have gained at Belfast Central School will represent the foundation for additional learning that will take place during each day of your lives You can assure yourselves success by making sure that you are enthusiastic and receptive to all of the lessons that life will give you. I salute you for your academic achievements while you attend- ed Belfast Central School and I urge you to use the knowledge you have gained here as a basis for continued personal growth. Please come back and visit us We need to know how we can make Belfast Central School a better school. Dennis M Doell Principal This has been a special year in the Belfast Central School District — a committee of school personnel and local citizens has begun work on compiling a history of our school district It is fitting to pay tribute to those educational pioneers who could not possibly have foreseen how their sense of commitment and belief in the value of education would impact you. the 1988 graduating class. While their initiative served an immediate need in Belfast, they demonstrated wisdom and foresight, and perhaps most impor- tantly. a profound faith in the future generations of our communi- ty to sustain and build upon what they had begun What began m 1851 as a one-room school has evolved to the school as we know it today. I simply ask that, before you leave the corridors and classrooms of this building for the last time, you reflect for a moment on what has been made available to you here in Belfast Central School. Reflect not only on the bricks and mortar, but on the optimism for the future years felt by those who came so long before you.
