In September of 1974, many of the Seniors of 1983 walked into my fourth grade classroom. It was a very nervous, uncertain and frightening beginning for all of us. Since it was my first year of teaching, I am not sure who was more frightened, the students or myself. After you graduate in )une, you will be facing some of the same anxieties that you and I faced eight years ago. You have been prepared to cope with most of these anxieties that will be en- countered. Remember that you made it through thirteen years of school and achieved what you wanted — graduation. You can also achieve anything you want in the real world. Mr Porter Principal To the Class of 1983 You are graduating from high school during a down-swing of our economy. The unemployment rate is extremely high Industrial pro- duction is down. The farm industry is feeling hard times. Everyone feels gloom over our present economic plight, however the indica- tions of prosperity and revitalization of the economy are already presenting themselves. You must have a positive vision of the future and be willing to dedicate yourself in your work to bring about necessary change. Do not sit back and wait for something to hap- pen You must make it happen. Mr Bouldin Superintendent 82 Miss S Feldbauer, Kindergarten Mrs. J. Nelson, Grade 1 Mrs. A.
