For the past eight years, he has helped and guided us through times of joy as well as times of sorrow, and has always been there when we needed someone to talk to. He has been a major factor behind our success and in everything we have accomplished over the years. We would like to thank him for being such a great help to all of us, and for being a wonderful teacher, but most of all, for being a friend. 3 The Road blot Taken bt Robert FAOAt Two AoadA diverged in a yellow wood, And 6 0my I could not tAavel both And be one tAaveleA, long I Atood And looked down one a6 a t a6 I could To wheAe it bent in the undeAgAowth; Then took the otheA, a6 juAt a t iA, And having peAhapA the betteA claim, Because it waA gAaAAy and wanted weaA; Though aa toA that the paAAing theAe Had woAn them Aeally about the tame. Go Vienie!! 67 All Star Comments from the Coaches This year was a rebuilding year for the boy's varsity soccer team. The team started out slow but as the season progressed they greatly improved. We will greatly miss John Wilson, Clayton Truax, David Cox, Jim Mahoney and Bill Kish who will be graduating. Coach Sullivan Boys Soccer Coach The girl's soccer team had a winning 1979 season. Their new defense brought continual improvement. The girls demonstrated a desire to win while still remain- ing ladies. The height of excitement came when they played at night under the lights in the sectionals. It was a disappointing loss but an exciting experience. Mrs. Vienna Girls Soccer Coach 68 Kevin Morton Basketball at B.C.S. 1980 Junior Varsity Basketball Belfast can be proud of the way their Junior Varsity Basketball team represented them this season. Counted out by many schools because of their inexperience they were able to make their season a success through hustle, team play and determi- nation. With the improvement that these players made as the season progressed, basketball has a bright future at B.C.S. Mr. Engel J.V. Coach Boys Varsity Basketball This year s basketball team is one to remember. Although small and inexperienced the players worked hard and gave their best. What they lacked in skill they made up in hustle. The seniors will be missed. Dave Cox was probably the most consistent of our players this year. He generally accounted for 8-10 rebounds per game, 4 or 5 steals and 8-10 points. Clayton A1 Truax had a super attitude and dedication. Al's performance in the Houghton game will never be forgotten. In a close (2 point) ball game A1 stole the ball 2 or 3 consecutive times and assisted on lay ups allowing us to take control of the game. Bill Matola's performance in the Scio game had to be one of my best remembrances as a coach. Bill stole the ball and rebounded like a seasoned veteran. To the seniors I'd like to say thanks. Mr. Nelson Varsity Coach Girls Varsity Basketball During the entire season the girl's basketball team displayed the QUALITIES of sportsmanship, team-play and hard work. Belfast can be proud of these girls for their many hours of dedication. Through wins and losses the team members showed genuine respect and caring for each other. This made the season a rewarding and happy experience for all who were involved. L.
