-JhIIc of cJ'fni-ni- tc{LtLoa £ pg. ft faJ7 nJ7 nkl Coach Vienna came to Belfast in 1959 and served as Athletic Direct- or for 15 years. He received the Big 30 Coach of the Year Award in the 1968-69 season when he led the Bulldogs to the Section V finals. In other years his basketball teams were also winning teams. In the 1974-75 bas — ketball season, Mr. Vienna became a member of the Big 30 panel for selection of Coach of the Year. He was also secretary of the Section V Athletic Committee. In soccer, Mr. Vienna coached teams to three unde- feated seasons and won the Section V Class D Title three times. As our coach Mr. Vienna instilled in us those qualities useful not only on the athletic field but qualities which will be useful for the rest of our lives. Mr. Vienna began teaching Physical Education at B.C.S. in 1959. He also taught Health for two years until 1974 when he became our principal. Trying always to serve as an example of what he taught, Mr. Vienna stressed good sportsmanship and teamwork. Whether in the classroom, hall, gym, or even on die athletic field he treated everyone fairly. These values and others that Mr. Vienna, as our teacher, helped us de- velop shall influence us always. 2 Paul Vienna was a very good administrator. As you entered the school office you could almost always find some students there, not because they were in trouble, but because Mr. Vienna was always willing to talk with his students and help them in any way he could. We were very fortunate to know him and we only wish he could be here to work with other students in the years to come. Paul Vienna was a man who was very much a part of his community. He was a member of the Bel- fast Rescue Squad and he was also a fireman. He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. He was such a well-known figure that he was humor- ously given the title as the Mayor of South Street. There is not another man we have known that has done more for our community than this individual. 3 ADMINISTRATION an i STAFF Board of Education Row 1: J. Neother, H. Feldbauer, S. Spink. Row 2:S. Friday, Belfast meets Friendship, the North’s leader. BELFAST, after its tie with Angelica ear- lier in the week, obliged by playing Friend- ship to a 3-3 lock yesterday, thereby forcing the North Division playoff battle between Angelica and Friendship. Belfast, 5, Rush ford 2 Rush ford goalie Dennis Donner was treated and then released for knee strain after a collision in the fourth quarter with Belfast's Willy Weaver. It was a question of both of them not being able to stop on the wet grass, Belfast coach Sullivan said. Belfast opened the scoring in the second period when Don Car- lin, Mike Vienna, and Ken Spink scored. Vienna scored again in the third period. It's mighty tight this year, isn't it, Rich Sullivan, who is a very observant man, was saying after his team clipped Rushford 5-2 in a mudfight Thursday. What's so tight this year is the loggerhead that's jamming the standings of both North and South D soccer leagues. Sullivan's team, Belfast, leads the Northern Division by just a half game over Friendship and Angelica after yesterday's games. 48 Belfast Girls Climb with Win Belfast climbed half a game past Friendship in the North Division of Allegany Girls soccer yesterday by clipping Wyoming 2-0. Ruth Lilly scored one field goal and Laurie Smith made a penalty kick. Belfast topped Wyoming 6-2, Ruth Lilly scored three times in Belfast’s win at Wyoming yesterday. Debbie Young, Lorrie Smith, and Shenny Woodruff each added one for the winners. 7th 8th Soccer Row l: K. Morton, D. Cox, D. Powers, J. Wilson, N. Truax, Mr. Roenbeck. Row 2: P. McCumiskey, M.
