I Twenty-six energetic freshmen entered high school in September, 1949. We were a bit shy at first; however, as the year progressed, we outgrew this as we became engrossed in our studies and activities. Being party- minded, we found that a bumpy truck ride to a Fillmore movie placed all of us in a Jovial mood. An adventure in Wellsville where many of us learned to skate (?) was another highlight in our social life. As sophomores, we were permitted to have one money-making activity. After much discussion, we decided upon a dance. We really flubbed the dub on this, but all who came enjoyed themselves. In our Junior year we plunged into our money-raising affairs. With only eighty-six cents In our treasury, we felt a great need for some revenue . Among our activities, we sold candy and cards, sponsored dances, put on dinners and had great fun presenting Aunt Cathie’s Cat , a three-act mystery comedy. We entertained the seniors at the annual Junior-Senior Banquet, at which everyone had a glorious time. Then we Journeyed to Cuba Lake after the banquet and had a ball for ourselves. I think everyone will agree that our Senior year has been the most enjoyable. We now number only seventeen, nine having dropped out moved away in the four years. Many memories of our senior year will live In our minds forever...the merriment of practising for our play Act Your Age , which proved a record-breaking success... the parties...the dances... the Joyous fun on our Washington trip, especially on our chartered bus... and finally the excitement and touch of sadness that goes with graduation.
