Social tudies - Spirit 0 The spirit of understanding the governments of today and the people in these governments is developed through the Social Studies Department. The many different courses offered by this de- partment give the student knowledge not only of his own country's history, government, and eco- nomic system, but also an understanding of the governments and development of other countries. With this knowledge and understanding of major governmental systems, Social Studies also gives the students a keener insight into the problems of the world.
