Principal Above: Mr. Henson is shown standing in the band room that is being constructed at the high school. Superintendent - what comes to your mind when you hear that word? You probably think it's some form of a principal, right? Wrong, our superintendent is really the manager of Beggs schools. For instance, he sets up the money budget. He knows what is spent where and why. He must know if the schools can afford things before they buy or build them. A good example is the construction of the band room at the high school. Mr. Henson carefully made a budget for the labor, materials, and etc. To make sure everything goes according to his budget, he must supervise how things are done on a day to day basis. These are only a few of the many jobs Mr. Hen- son handles everyday. Thanks to him, Beggs schools are able to afford things like a new band room.

School Board Promotes Improvements After serving 15 years on the Beggs School Board Jack Jamison has retired. During the 15 years he served on the school board, he has helped bring about many improvements of the Beggs School System and facilities. Some of the changes that have occurred in the past 15 years are the new high school, along with a new baseball diamond, tennis court, and bleachers added to the football field. The teaching staff has increased from 32 to 60 teachers, and the stu- dent body has grown from 636 to 852. The year- book has been upgraded, and the Beggs Band was formed. All of these changes and more have come about because of the school board and their concern of bettering Beggs High. Upper: Seated: Cleora Keaton.
