S, if Hey, look at that door! Wow, that looks good! Ours looks better than that! These were some of the comments heard in the halls during the newspaper's door decorating contest. The con- test was between all the second hour classes at the high school. Each class that wanted to enter worked to be the winner, because the prize was a sandwich party given by the news- paper staff. The day finally came and the win- ner was Mr. Stie's Chemistry class. The yearbook stalf started out their sales by putting on a skit in front of the high school. They announced the queen candidates so everyone could buy a yearbook. Each class voted on two favorite girls to sell yearbooks. All together they sold 555 yearbooks: that's a record number! fx-1' 5' Superintendents Honor Roll: Top Row: Dana Henson, Lisa Hamilton, Jimmy Mitchell, Merrily Jamison, Debra Rotramel, David Win- frey, Marc Harris. 2nd Row: Kelli Holdaway, Karen Hawthorne, Sharon Goudeau, Cheri Irvin, Bellinda Caudell, VaLora Adams, Lor- rie Morrison, Tim Payne. During the 15 years he served on the school board, he has helped bring about many improvements of the Beggs School System and facilities. Some of the changes that have occurred in the past 15 years are the new high school, along with a new baseball diamond, tennis court, and bleachers added to the football field. The teaching staff has increased from 32 to 60 teachers, and the stu- dent body has grown from 636 to 852. The year- book has been upgraded, and the Beggs Band was formed. All of these changes and more have come about because of the school board and their concern of bettering Beggs High. Upper: Seated: Cleora Keaton. Henson Superintendent P6 .,-- ' Leslie Johnston Vance K. Haggard Lloyd Adams H.S. Principal M.S. Principal Elem. Principal Above: Mr. Henson is shown standing in the band room that is being constructed at the high school. Superintendent - what comes to your mind when you hear that word? You probably think it's some form of a principal, right? Wrong, our superintendent is really the manager of Beggs schools. For instance, he sets up the money budget. He knows what is spent where and why. He must know if the schools can afford things before they buy or build them. A good example is the construction of the band room at the high school. Mr. Henson carefully made a budget for the labor, materials, and etc. To make sure everything goes according to his budget, he must supervise how things are done on a day to day basis. These are only a few of the many jobs Mr. Hen- son handles everyday. Thanks to him, Beggs schools are able to afford things like a new band room. We have a first-rate office staff which works hard to make sure that all the paper work for the school is kept up. ln the school system there is also an outstanding kitchen crew that keeps us well fed.
