The annual staff members are each individuals with individual items and feelings. For them to choose a theme for the pages whose subjects have the same degree of individuality was an impossible task. After hours and hours of serious debate.(Ha), and weeks of heated argument (Ha Ha), the decision was finally made. By expressing our individual opinions and views and refusing to agree, we had reached a theme. The one thing that each group and individual had in common, the connector of all these pages that lie ahead; the unique- ness of our school and all of it’s students. Therefore with great pride, we, the annual staff present to you the events of 1983-84 in your yearbook, a unique book full of unique people. 2 1971 Kindergarteners: First Row: Julie Martin, Rex Peterson. In our own Beemer Invita- tional, we managed to get third next to Wisner and Dodge. Winning to West Point CC was one game we all wanted to do well in. We won in three sets playing the best we ever had all season. Spirit continued to build throughout the activity- filled week as students participated in Military day. Punk day. Slop day, and finally Purple and white Dress-up day. The art class added to the school spirit by painting a Bobcat on the 40 yard line. Adverse weather conditions made it impossible for the annual bonfire to be held, but that didn’t cool down the Bobcats; they pulled through with 51-13 victory over Walthill. The King and Queen were crowned by last year's Royalty, assisted by crownbearers Andrew Brandt and Brittany Ackerman. The week came to a close with a dance featur- ing music by Complete Sound of Norfolk. 1983 — Wearing ihe Crowns The Goal of Yesterday will be the Starting Point of Tomorrow 1970 — Bearing the Crowns A Looks that Kill!! ► WE BAD!!! 4 Rod on Patrol GANG MILITARY A Where's the BEEF?? Many of us realized that this would be our last time togeth- er. As we waited for the clock to change to 7:30, all of us were in the kindergarten room thinking over our past years and the memories we shared together. It was finally time to march into the gym. Escorted by Ronda Peck and Dean Schlickbernd, the sen- iors marched in with the tradition- al music of Pomp and Circum- stance. After the Invocation by Rev. Harold C. Johnson, the seniors sang “A Different Light which was followed by the salutatorian address by Beth Heidt. Lori, Ray, and Margaret sang “Life Keeps Movin' after which the Valedicto- rian, Iris Mestl, gave her speech. The senior girls sang “Friends Forever . The Baccalaureate ad- dress by Rev. Johnson was inter- esting to all as well as the scholar- ship awards presented by Mr. Peck. Mr. Schulz presented the di- plomas and Rev. Johnson gave the Benediction. 67 A tradition after graduation — throwing off hats NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Front Row: Sarah Wordckcmpcr, Hope Hasenkamp, Margaret Black, Beth Hcidt; Second Row: Ronda Peck.
