Tess Oswald, Brenda Kersten, and Denise Hasenkamp were all named as members of the All-Conference Team. Underclassmen saw a lot of varsity action this year and the starting six appreciated the fact that sophomores and juniors could come off the bench and do a fine job in a tight situation. Although our record of 13-6 doesn’t emphasize the fine sea- son we had, the Bobkittens took 3rd at our own invitational and saw second-round action at Districts before being defeated by 13-1 Clearwater. 24 VARSITY White Purple Name Height Grade 24 25 Brenda Kersten 5- 6 12 32 33 Gina Martin 5- 9 12 50 51 Pam Schlickbernd 5- 6 12 42 43 Denise Hasenkamp 5- 5 11 44 45 Geri Martin 5- 6 11 52 53 Shelly Metheney 6- 0 11 34 35 Anne Ortmeier 5- 9 11 40 41 Jane Troyer 5- 8 11 22 23 Carla Batenhorst 5- 4 10 30 31 Margaret Black 5- 4 10 54 55 Lori Glaubius 5- 8 10 10 11 Beth Heidt 5- 4 10 13 13 Julie Martin 5- 4 10 20 21 Iris Mestl 5- 5 10 14 15 Sarah Wordekemper 5-11 10 4 5 Michelle Yosten 5- 4 10 JUNIOR VARSITY 51 32 Denise Dinslage 5-10 9 33 33 Stephanie English 5- 6 9 53 3 Danette Hasenkamp 5- 4 9 41 35 Rose Ann Liermann 5- 7 9 21 22 Julie Mahnke 5- 5 9 25 25 Ruth Ortmeier 5- 5 9 15 20 Ronda Peck 5- 4 9 Coaches: Ernest Heidt, Head Mark Legband, Assistant Student Managers: Trisha Albers, Jody Schultz GIRLS 28 BASKETBALL And they’re off! All through the week the anticipation built. While secret admirers decorated each others lockers, windows were paint- ed, and the hallways decorated, everyone got caught up in the excitement. A bonfire was held behind the school after classes were let out early Friday and then everyone raced downtown for the Pep Rally. Highlighting the rally was Karen McNamara kissing a pig as the winner (loser?) of a contest held that week. When half-time finally arrived King Russ and Queen Pam were crowned after attendants had been announced. Following the breathtaking victory of 27-20 over Winne- bago, the dance, featuring Stag, ended the festivities on a fantastic note. Spirit week at BHS included the following days; Monday: Hippie Day Tuesday: Space Day Wednesday: Occupation Day Thursday: Wild and Crazy Day Friday: Purple and White Day Spirit Kids were Jeff Schulz and Holly Hasenkamp 46 Seniors were awarded $15 for the window painting contest.
