At the Midland Relays in Fremont on April 13, they failed to score. In the Logan Valley Track Meet at Wayne on April 18, Beemer finished sixth scoring three points. Mike Smith ran a 5:11 mile finishing fourth and Jerry King ran a 2:17 half mile to finish fifth. The freshman relay team (Erie Carter, LeRoy Tichota, Keith Spangler and John Van Auker) finished third in the 440 yard relay. At the Dakota City Relays, May 2, Beemer scored two points. Mike Smith ran a 5:04 mile (fifth) and Jerry King ran a 2:13.2 half mile (fifth). This included all the scoring done by Beemer this year.
