Class History In 1942, one morning in September, thirteen students enrolled in the Beemer Public School. They were Karen Burke, Darlene Ernesti, Irvin Gentrup, Allen Haines, Mary Kuncl, Marion Litz, Don Lohoefner, Terry Pierson, Karen Rathke, Kenneth Worrell, Margaret Wortman, Herman Oswald, and May Douglas. We lost five during this year. Our teacher was Miss Donna Lea Marquardt. As we entered the second grade. Miss Marquardt, our same teacher taught. We lost Margaret Wortman and gained Kenneth Schlickbernd this year. Miss Angela Ritter taught us during our third year of school. During this year we lost Kenneth Worrell and gained Richard Kotik, and Thomas Wells. During our fourth term we gained Mary Shield, JoAnn Tichota, Evelyn Peterson, Leroy Peterson, and Marlys Albus. We lost Marion Litz. Our teacher was Miss Angela Ritter. As we entered the fifth grade we found that we gained Diane Vandra, Elmer Reich, Gilbert Spenner, John Kajman, and Karen Rathke. Mrs. Koehler was the teacher of this happy group. When we came to enroll for the sixth grade we lost Karen Rathke, Diane Vandra, Irvin Gentrup. Evelyn Peterson, Leroy Peterson, and Richard Kotik. Our teacher was Mrs. Ella Koehler this year also. In September as we entered Junior High, we gained Doris Johnson, and lost John Fajman and Mary Shields. We studied under Mrs. Long during the seventh grade. Our class officers were Mary Kuncl as President, Kenneth Schlickbernd as Vice-President, Karen Burke as Secretary, and Doris Johnson as Treasurer. Mrs. Long taught us during our eighth term. We gained Betty Ann Young. We elected Kenneth Schlickbernd as President of the class, Marlys Albus as Vice-President, Karen Burke as Secretary, and Doris Johnson as Treasurer. As we entered our first day of High School we enrolled and became known as Green Freshies. This year we lost Thomas Wells, and Gilbert Spenner; however we gained many more. The newcomers were Victor Jording, Bob Long, Marion Hitch, Ann Schlickbernd, Dorothy Heitman, Naomi Kroeger, Delva Wascher, Ver Nelle Sindelar, and Raymond Picha, which added to Herman Oswald. Elmer Reich, Marlys Albus, Karen Burke, Kenneth Schlickbernd, Betty Ann Young, JoAnn Tichota, Doris Johnson, and Mary Kuncl---who graduated from the eighth grade last term in Beemer. Our class officers were: President-Kenneth Schlickbernd, Vice-President-R obert Long. Secreta ry-Ka ren Burke. Treasurer-Betty Ann Young. Mr. and Mrs. Moore were our class sponsors. As we entered our Sophomore year we gained Leroy Koenig, Mac Kail Skutnik. Mary Wesche, and Virginia Rolenc. We lost Bob Long. Marion Hitch, Delva Wascher, and Doris Johnson. We elected Kenneth Schlickbernd as President, Raymond Picha as Vice-President, Karen Burke as Secretary, and Victor Jording as Treasurer. Mr. Moore our class sponsor has done many things to make this an enjoyable year for us. Our Junior year was one of the most important events of our lives; however we lost Virginia Rolenc, and Mac Kail Skutnik. The Juniors gave a lovely banquet carrying out the theme, “On the French Riviera. It was our pleasure to give the play, Ghost Wanted, April 21 and 22. Mrs. McKenzie directed the play. Miss Flemmer and Mr. Moore sponsored our class for the third term. Our President was Raymond Picha, Vice-President was Kenneth Schlickbernd, Secretary was Marlys Albus, and Treasurer was Leroy Koenig. The highlights of our Senior year were our class play and the banquet, which was given us by the Juniors. Our class play. The Little Dog Laughed, was given November 23 and 24. Mrs. Nicholls directed the play. Our class officers were: Kenneth Schlickbernd as President, JoAnn Tichota as Vice-President, Ann Schlickbernd as Secretary, and Marlys Albus as Treasurer. Mr. Moore and Mr. Basler were our class sponsors. Our graduation brought to a close our journey through twelve years of school. 9
