ABUVE Ed Castine. BELOW Tony Montanna, Joe Myers, Gerry Carlin, Mike Bishop, Shannon Manor, Brian Tousignent And Scott Luck The Eagles were contenders for the CVAC title in 1981. They lead the Conference midway through the season with a seven and three record but down the stretch they lost some tight games to finish in fourth place. The Eagles competed in the sectionals for the Hrst time since 1976 and nearb' upset the 1981 Section Vll champs. Ste ve Myers and Paul Lakock were outstanding pitchers for the Eagles. Myers was named to the all-conference team. lakock tossed a no-hitter against Ausable Valley. Carey Case and Mike Bishop were the teamis co-captains. Case led the team in hitting with a .386 average. Bishop exhibited a strong arm with good range from the outheld ea les finish fourth in ti ht cvac race BEL UMC' Mark Brown Scott Luck was one of the top catchers in the CVAC with excellent defense and a strong arm. With a number of outstanding players returning for the 1982 season, Coach Butler looks forward to piloting a solid contender once again. 1982 could be the year the Eagles win it all in baseball The junior varsity, coached by Mr. Bainbridge had an outstanding record in 1981, winning ten of their fourteen games. Two close games with Peru were all that stood between the jv's and the CVAC pennant.

outstanding ind 'vidual per ormances highlight 1981 tack season Judging by the efforts of its members, the boys Track and Field 1981 had a successful season. In the Section 7 Championship meet, seventeen personal best performances were achieved by our athletes. lohn Miller took hrst place in the 100 meter dash and won a trhJ to the State Championship meet at Cornell University. Todd Duquette displayed fierce competitive desire in a thrilling 800 meter relay. Peter Martin set school records for eighth graders in the 800 meters I2:30I, mile 15.261, and two-mile t11:581. Little Kevin Walter set school records for seventh graders in the 800 meters 12:31 2, and the mile t5:40j. Sophomore Eric Caron ran the second fastest mile 15.242 of the year for BCS athletes, despite the fact that he is legally blind Mel Brinson set seventh grade records in the 100 meters 513.0 secondsj and 400 meters 564.0 secondsj. Every one of our distance runners ran Mr. Bainbridge 's so called mile I5 laps around the football Neldj in 4 minutes and 30 seconds or better. Allin all, the athletes were proud of their efforts and hope to better their personal records in 1982. The 1981 Girl's track and field team, coached by Mrs. Bro- gowski had a good season last spring. Each individual on the team contributed to meeting the goals of the team. ln every meet, the girls put forth their best efforts. Some outstanding runners last year were Mair Dlmstead Teri Nelson, Sheila Kirk, Michelle Provost, Karen Rivers, Karen Gilt Gerlinda Wild Suzie Klein, Deanna Eaton, and Michelle Carron. Other members of the track team included Holly De yo, Connie Remchuck, Karen Davis, Tracy Masters, Marvella Ford and Laurie Smith. Melanie Noonan, Annette Reid and Karen Vassar had excellent performances in the held events. Mair Olmstead and Melanie Noonan went to the State meet in lune and participated in the shot and discus events.
