The 1979 baseball season was a disappointment for both the players and their coach as they failed to manage a single win during the regular season. But if the team was a disappointment, several of the individual players can be proud of their own contricutions. Joe Corron for example, the team's third baseman, was an honorable mention on the Press Republican All-Star team. In addition, Joe pitched sev- eral strong games for the team as did Mike Sears and George Dyer. The graduating seniors were Rick Bishop, Joe Corron, George Dyer, Art Garrant, and Mike Higgins. As this yearbook was going to press, the 1980 version of the Eagle's baseball team was starting its pre-season workouts. With an expanded roster and a new varsity coach, Mr. Butler, the team is optimistic about making Beekmantown a baseball contender once again.

Senlor Carla Sherman went to the State Meet to represent the team In the mlle run. Other runners showlng a great deal of talent were Megan O'Connell, Mary Carlln, Elalne Guay, Beth Trombley, Glorla Trask, Shelley Sherman, Rlta James, and Tracy Masters. The 1979 boys track team had a fine season winning three meets and losing seven. These boys worked hard to develop excellent track and field abilities. These outstanding skills were clearly demonstrated by state qualifiers John Seabron in the 220 yard dash and Mike Barber in the shot put.
