' ff,.f,qLfW55 N w junior eagle's win 6, lose 2 The junior varsity football team, led by sophomore quarterback Scott Luck, finished its season with a 6-2 record. The little Eagles had an undefeated season until they came up against two other undefeated teams, Plattsburgh and Peru, Ioslng these games by a total of eight points. The junior varsity squad flnlshed third ln the CVAC standings. The team had two shut-outs: St. John's was beaten 23-0 and Ausable Valley, 35-0. Some of the outstanding players were: Kenny Bordeau, Eddie Castine, Sam Dyer, Randy Labarge, Steve LaBarge, Scott Luck, and John Miller. The 79-80 cheerleading squad showed more determlnatlon, leadership, and dedlcatlon, along wlth a great deal of sklll, than has ever been shown before. These glrls led the crowd In cheers through a first rate football season and halped boost sagglng splrlts durlng basketball season. Wlth the help of their advlsor, Mrs. Lelghty, these glrls created two excellent pom-pom routlnes that were per- formed durlng half-tlme of basketball games. One of the routines was performed to the theme song of The Maln Event the other, also performed by the Junlor Varslty squad, was to the song Shake Your Grove ThIng by Peaches and Herb. The senlors who cheered their last year are: Laura Brown, Patty Lemieux, Sharyl Peryer, Falth Rock, and Laurle St. Louis. Although the Junlor Varslty squad cheers only durlng bas- ketball season, they put as much effort and dedlcatlon Into their cheerlng as the Varslty. The squad put alot of spirit and enthusiasm Into thelr cheers and has excelled In leading the crowd durlng the JV games. The squad made up a half-tlme routlne to be performed during the season to the song Dim All the Llghts by Donna Summer. The JV's also joined the varslty squad during the Shake Your Groove Thlng routine. The varsity can look forward to having the following sopho- mores on lts squad next year: Mary Jo Boslet, Cheryl Durnell, Tammy Duquette, Laureen LaValIey, and Carolyn Parker.
