ri 42 :vi As always, Beekmantown was fortunate enough to have sev- eral outstanding Scholars in the Senior class. Four of these students, Julle Corron, Julie Milrons, David Parker, and Brab Recor had an opportunity to demonstrate their scholastic ability on the locally televised Scholars for Dollars program. The competition was really stiff as the panelists had to face the defending champion M.A.I. in the first round. Often beat to the buzzer by mlll-seconds, Beekmantown was defeated but they had put up a good fight in the first round. The team was awarded scholarship money as a consolation prize. Team alter- nates Included Mona Bedard, Doreen Curtin, Mike Gregoire. and Alan Touslgnant. Michael Bell acted as spokesman and Mrs. Allen served as faculty advisor. Thls year, as always, the staff members of the 1980 Crest have put all thelr energy Into creating a yearbook unllke any other. The staff and advlsor of the yearbook are confident that they have come up wlth another outstanding and high quality Crest. Thls year's staff was, led by Layouts Editors Rita James and Tracy Masters, General Copy Edltor Linda Gove, Senior Copy Edltor Julle Corron, Photography Edltor Julie Masters, Business Manager Mona Bedard, Sales Manager Sharyl Peryer, and Advertizlng Edltor Me- gan O'Connell. Thelr separate jobs included the taklng and laylng out of photos, selling, advertlslng, wrltlng copy, deslgnlng pages, and varlous other jobs which have to be done before the book can be sent to the publisher. Although the count Is not yet offlclal, there ls little doubt that this year's high sale's person was Mona Bedard. Speclal thanks goes to Mr. Sherman, the advisor, whose sole concern was to produce the best Crest possible for the students and faculty of Beekmantown.
