An understanding of the concepts involved in the various social studies can promote a healthier society. Each student is required to take four years of courses in this department. The social studies program offers an impressive list of courses. Basic to the curriculum are Afro!Asian Culture Study, World History, and Ameri- can Studies. ln the senior year many electives are offered. These include American Political Behavior, Canadian Studies, Decision Making, Con- sumer Economics, Sociology, and Behavioral Science. Though the required social studies courses are seldom at the top of most student's list of favorites, the electives provide many opportunities for special speakers, movies, and field trips. These provide the students with first-hand experiences that are educational, and enjoyable as well. Q 'KN 4 S
