Dedicafivn To Mr. John P. Glasgow, high school principal of Beekmantown Central School, who has shown a personal interest in each of us, assisted us with admirable patience, inspired us with his confidence and, in every way, enhanced our chances for success, we, the Class of 1960, dedicate this second edition of The Crest. Our principal, Mr. Glasgow, was born in- Omaha, Nebraska. He attended schools in Minnesota and Nebraska and received his high school diploma from Assumption Academy in Chadron, Nebraska. Desiring further education, he attended Nebraska State University Teachers College at Chadron, where he received the degree of Bachelor of Science. Mr. Glasgow began his teaching career at a rural school in Andrews, Nebraska. Following that, he was employed as a business teacher and coach at Uehling, Nebraska, and later taught in the same capacity at Dahlgren, Illinois. In 1945, he moved to Dannemora, New York where he accepted a teaching post in the commercial department. Mr. Glasgow obtained his Master of Education degree at Syracuse University, and later did further graduate work at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. In 1951, Mr. Glasgow became the supervising principal at Dannemora, New York, a post which he held until 1957, when he came to Beekmantown as high school principal.
