GLASS lllS'I'0llY It was with a feeling of eager anticipation that we, the seniors of 55 en- tered our Freshman year of high school. To represent us in this first event- ful year were: President, Larry Thayer, Vice-President, Virginia Baker, Secretary, Doris Usherg Treasurers, Jean Mayfield and Paul Lowley, Point Secretary, Cleo Thompson, Class Reporter, Larry Baumg Student Council, Dick Young and Shirley Suchyg Class Council, Joan Vader, Jim Langley, and Joyce Goode. Our Freshman queen candidate was Nancy McQuiston. Our play Ignorance Is Bliss was very successful. We entered our sophomore year feeling that we were now an essential part of the high school. The following officers were elected: President, Larry Thayer, Vice-President, Paul Lowley, whose position was later filled by Muriel Wyles, when Paul had to leave us, Secretary, Muriel Morrison, Treasurers, Barbara Rehak and Don Webster, Point Secretary, Jean Mayfield, Class Reporter, Larry Baumg Class Council, James Ott, Leslie Brown, and Inez Church, Student Council, Dick Hoffman and Shirley Suchy. There were two queen candidates this year, Doris Usher and Corrine McFarland, with Doris winning the crown. Our play Too Sweet For Sixteen was a big success. Next we review our junior year. Our play Seventeen Is Awfully Young was a huge success. Our leaders for the year were: President, Jean May- fieldg Vice-President, Muriel Wyles, Secretary, Muriel Morrison, Treas- urers, Don Webster and Barbara Rehak, Point Secretary, Donna Stark, Class Reporter, Larry Baum, Student Council, Dick Hoffman and Shirley Clark, Class Council, Joanne Clifford, Inez Church, and Margie Henderson. Our two queen candidates were Jean Mayfield and Thelma Hougland. We sold magazines and were very successful, with Jerry Bolan being highest seller and Barbara Rehak second. The biggest project of the year was the Junior-Senior Prom. We held it in the Masonic Temple in Mt. Morris. It was decorated inaform ofa garden. Our theme was Moonlight and Roses. At last our long awaited Senior year arrived. Directing us as our student officers were: President, Larry Thayer, Vice-President, Muriel Wylesg Secretary, Cleo Thompson, Treasurers, Barbara Rehak and Don Webster, Point Secretary, Donna Stark, Class Reporter, Larry Baum, Class Council, Madeline McAinish, Charles Russell, and Margie Henderson, Student Council, Shirley Clark and Gerald White. Our two queen candidates were Rachel Miley and Muriel Morrison. For our play we chose The Mountain House Mystery which was a big success. For money-making projects we sold Christmas cards, and Beecher Buccaneer-Pep Shirts. Our Senior trip was planned, We went to Detroit and mounted the gang- plank to adventure. We went to Mackinaw Island through the Soux Locks and back home again to good old Beecher. For our class colors we picked Foam White and Black. For our class flower, American Beauty Rose. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, Mrs. Teegardin and Mr. Withers for helping us through our' four years of high school. We will al- ways remember you and hope you will not forget us.
