The taste, style and fashion found at Beechcroft are the same throughout the nation. America still loves a hamburger and Mom's apple pie will always bring a compliment. While eating out has become almost a delicacy due to the tight economy, restaurants featuring foreign cusine flourish, particularly in the Columbus area where many such restaurants abound. The clothing trends has not changed dramatically since last year: designer jeans, for instance, are still very popular. The preppy look is now just taken for granted. Blazers and cowboy boots are in, and lace has returned full force in almost all styles of women's fashions. As for personality and people, the two are inseparable among the crowd at Beechcroft. One need only look in the hallway, a classroom, an of- fice, or a lunchroom to find any character ever dreamed of. He will probably even find some of the most beautiful per- sonages the world has ever seen. 82 Entertainment American's newest favorite pastime is playing games. Not the standard board games, but games that involve in- telligence, logic, a quick eye, coordina- tion, and most of them anyway, a great deal of spare time - that is if one wants to excel at them. The game craze began on two distinct waves, one with Rubik's Cube which was proceeded by other geometric facsimiles and logic games such as the Missing Link, and the other with electronic video games. Space ln- vaders captured the hands and eyes of millions of Americans, and is now only one member of a very large family. Brothers and sisters include Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Asteroids, Defender, Cen- tipede, and Munchies. Who plays all these electronic marvels? Everyone! Anyone who has not challenged the missiles of a Space lnvader or the hungry mouth of a Pac Man has surely attempted Rubik's Cube - at least picked one up to take a few turns, and a few more there is something irresistable about that cube 9
