The Reserve cheerleaders are shown performing one of their half-time shows. The Junior High games are growing in popularity. Here we see the four cute Junior High cheerleaders: Cheryll Maar, Rise Meurer, Janice McCampbell, and Diane Smith. The pretty freshmen cheerleaders boosted the morale of all freshmen teams. They are: Irene McCampbell, Diane Diegel, and Debbie Alfrey.

Ch eerie ad ers The cheerleaders helped build and maintain school spirit throughout the entire year. The lovely varsity cheerleaders shown above are Sue Lockard, Rita Wilkins, Sue Hahnert, and Shirley Turner. Although very busy, the cheerleaders sponsored a dance in order to raise money for their treasury. Always on hand to cheer their teams to victory were the pretty reserve cheerleaders. They are Billie Roberts, Janet Jackson, and Connie Murphy. The reserve cheerleaders conducted fund-raising activities to send both themselves and varsity cheerleaders to camp.

The band took eighth place in the Indiana State Fair Band Contest, which was quite an achievement over the thirty-second place won only three years before. The band continued to be active throughout the year, playing for all home football and basketball games and all music department concerts. They also played host for the annual Marion County Band Festival. The members marched in several parades and attended the annual band day at Indiana University. They also received first rating at the local band contest held at Indiana Central College.
