A political rally with debates be- tween the Republican nominee for President, DOYLE WAYNE BURNS, and Democratic nominee, JIMMY JACKSON, (Cricket) was held at the ever famous Dizzy's Drive Inn, which is now run by Mrs. Carroll Reed--better known to most of you as LORETTA SIMS. Driving up in a Cadillac with WA YLAND HARRELL, Doyle Wayne's Campaign manager, was LYNN DALE ADAMS, the famous oil millionaire from Texas, and CARTHEL RAY OAKLEY, toy manufacturer. KAY FERGUSON who is still the best carhop in Arkansas, rushed out to serve them Just as HOLLIS PRUITT and his wife, WANDA HELDERMAN, owners of the Blngle Bangle circus came speeding in to park with their line of sideshow chorus girls; JUNE MOORE, DELORES WILSON, PATSY BURSON, BETTY FISHER, M ARGIE PANNELL, MARTHA NEAL, AND NORMA JEAN LANGFORD. Across the road at Helen's place, the nightclub owned by HELEN BEVILL, was Helen's headwaiter, BOBBY BEN- TON, and CLAUDE LaFERNEY, president of the Ditchdiggers Union, trying to tell HUBERT McMILLIN, the town undertaker, that the guys wearing the big Stetson hats were really JOHN MULLINS, owner of a dude ranch in Ari- zona, and his foreman, JIM SMITH. Just then the Editor of the Beebe News, SARAH BETH BEVILL, rushed into Helen's Place with the news that Belle Belue (GLADYS FAE ODLE), the glamorous movie star and her fourth husband Rock Curtis (CLEM OSBORN), Holly - - wood's leading man, had just arrived at the depot. The Mayor of Beebe, WILLIS ROBINSON, and Governor of Arkansas, CARL BAXTER, with their wives, the former BOBBIE JONES and BETTY LOU CARPENTER, respectively, were greeted by Reverend and Mrs. BENNIE PARKER. Mrs. Parker will be remembered as MILDRED LYNCH. The Parkers found them comfortable seats under a shade tree. Nearby the Beebe Home Demonstration Club, composed of Mrs. Wayne Price (CORA ANN ABINGTON), Mrs. Luke Short (BECKY HENRY). Mrs. William Earl Moon (BILLIE NOBLE). Mrs. Bennie Fowler (MINNIE BELL PRICE), and Mrs. John Lee Lightfoot (GLADYS FAYE TAYLOR) chatted with their guest, McRae's H.D. President, Mrs. Thomas Covington (JEAN DOWNING) over the days refreshments. HELEN IRVING, housekeeper for the Mayor, and her boyfriend, GORDON BEVILL, still Beebe's Democrat paper- boy, were holding quite a heated conversation on politics with fashion designer DOROTHY SMITH, professional football player WAYNE PRICE, and BOB ROBERTS, who took Georga's place playing the violin for Liberace. JIMMY HERROD, Jackson's campaign manager, was out in the crowd talking to penitentiary warden, JERRY WHIT£ and two of Jerry's prisoners, BILLY WILSON and HORACE GALLOWAY, when EARL KIRK, Superintendent of Beebe Special School District, arrived with members of his faculty; Librarian SALLIE BL A SING A ME. shorthand teacher NORMA BARNETT, and Miss Ford's assistant at teaching English PATSY LENDERMON. The last of the Senior Class of '55 to come to the rally were those flying in on the airline owned by MELVIN SIMMONS. They were: Pilot and co-pilot, JIMMY DARNELL and JULIAN MOORE; airline Hostess JOSEPHINE MOORE; the thrice married society doctor JOHNNIE NELL RODGERS; her assistant BEVERLY WHITE, and two of their patients JOE TAYLOR and Jimmy Rye. Thus once again the Senior Class of 1955 was gathered as a body to talk over old times and to discuss the future. Spony ed by Sims Drive Inn r CLASS WILL We. the clue of 1954.
