When the hands of the clock have revolved over and over again, leaving their mark upon each and all of us, then will the pages of this annual picture a true reflection of all the joys and sorrows, pleasures and hardships which were in reality, stepping stones on which we, step by step, have risen to Senior distinction. What wonder then, when years of life have left our memories hazy, that this book shall reflect the past charms of youth and fellow classmates? Annual Staf Mrs. Carmel Washburn As a token of our appreciation of her whose loyalty and interests are one with ours, whose friendship is ever gen- uine, whose sympathy is sincere, whose patience is endless, and whose unstinted service and loyalty are ever an inspira- tion, we dedicate this annual. It’s a clear day in Beebe with a slight breeze blowing from the South. We have a record crowd of five thousand among which are some of the celebrities of the Senior Class of 1954. Seated on my left, on the top row is JAMES MORRISON, the world famed Hobo, who has burned his way from coast to coast without working a day since his graduation 20 years ago. Talking to him is the world's Heavy Weight Champion. “ROCKY PAUL GRIFFIN. Seated on the first row is die two famous clowns for the Ringling Bros. Circus, Shorty KENNETH ROBINSON and Donnie Boy DONALD LYNN. To my extreme right I see that famous guide from the darkest part of Africa, O'NEAL HILL, with his assistant JOHNNY EDWARDS. I see CHARLES CARRIGAN, the head conductor of the Sun Shine Special, and seated beside him is the sole owner of the Schlitz Brewing Company, BENNY FOWLER. CLEMEY FOSHEE. the famousdress model from Paris. France, is renewing acquaintances with TROY GALLOWAY, the owner and operator of the “Galloway Plantation. “ Down near the center we see three old classmates with common interests. There is the Champion Girl Bulldog - ger of the Arkansas Livestock Show . WILMA JEAN COX. IMOGENE HERRIN, owner of the “Horse Shoe gambling resort in Las Vegas and JIMMY MARTIN, top foreman of the famous King’s Ranch in Texas. Coming in the north gate, with her famous All-American Basketball Team, is EARNESTINE LENDERMaN. Folks, there he is. as usual causing a big stir of excitement, that famous pineapple picker, straight from the South Pacific. GARY JONES, who now is a car designer in Rome. Italy. PENA BYARS, from the M.G. M. studios in Hollywood has just completed her latest picture and is home for the festivities. FRED ELLIS, who is a photographer for the “Life” Magazine, is on the fifty yard line taking pictures of the game to go in that weekly magazine. Folks, a picture of “Miss America will be on the cover of this week's “Life and all of you know that the American Beauty for this year as in times past is WANDA JACKSON. I just got word that HAROLD PEMBERTON, his wife, the former VERNA JEAN CORDELL and their son Harold Jr. have just arrived on the T. W. A. Airline from Miami. As all of you know, Harold Jr. won the Dennis the Menace contest at Little Rock this year. I guess he is like his father used to be , a chip off the old block probably. CAR- OLYN GILLHAM is a stewardess on the plane Harold and his family arrived on and we regret that she will not get to attend the game. BILL YE BURSON, the daring ice skater from New York, is seated on the bottom row keeping an eye on JIM SMITH who is home from the Navy to see the great game. MELVIN CUMMINGS is here in the crowd to see that your pocket isn’t picked, he is working with the F.B. I. now GEORGE SMITH, head of the General Motors Corp.. is also here. The “Mother of the Year , is also enjoying the game with her ten children, she was the well known NANCY PATTON back in her high school days. JUNE PRICE and NILA JO BELEW, two fine housewives from Floyd, have left their kitchens for the game today. Doc SHIRLEY AX has come all the way from, yes, thats right, Searcy , to see the Badgers play again. LOWELL WILES has just told me he is going to join JAMES MORRISON after the game and see the world, he will be the only educated Hobo known. We always knew he would do something unusual and extraordinary. BONNIE BRADBERRY and DORIS WASHBURN, who are both officers in the W. A.C. 's are here with their friends ANN COLE and LAVELL WEATHERLY who are reporters foe the New York Times. ELLIS RAMSEY is the famous ed- itor and as usual is on the job to see that they earn their pay. Well at any rate Journalism paid off for somebody. SANDRA CORDELL, who is attending college at Conway ends her 20th year there Monday to become the bride of Victor Harvey. They are over by the concession stand celebrating. BARBARA PARISH, the famous hat designer from Boston, Mass, is here to witness this great game. WILLODENE VINCENT, RENA FAY CONYERS, and LONNIE CAMPBELL, who are still enrolled in B. H. S. are taking an active part in getting the Queen crowned. We understand they will graduate this year after this 20 extra years of hard study. Seated just to my right, and grumbling about the weather as usual Is JERRY JACKSON, who has just returned from his famous resort in the Switzerland Alps. If you noticed when you bought your tickets the two teachers on duty were SUE JONES and BARBARA JOHNSTON. Seated near the bench in an easy chair is COACH ERWIN giving some timely advice to MR. CARTER, who is now head coach of the Badgers. Coach retired from active duty last year. Down near the front and center I see MRS. WASHBURN with an amateur photographer and two inexperienced reporters. Even though her hair is grey now. she still keeps that Journalism Class on the spot for news of events for the schoolpapcr. All the Class of '54 are glad to see these old teachers since they were our sponsors while seniors in B. H. S. There go the Badgers over for their last touchdown which ends the game. The final score is Beebe 40 and Searcy 6 This has been L. D. SEATS, your radio announcer from station G. A. B. B. Y.. the friendly voice of Beebe, bringing you the game of the year along with some news of the class of '54. Sponsored by J. L. Harrison Ins. Agency A.B.
