This comely teacher is de- scribed by her physics students as a real whiz, A picture of Mr. Wheeler without his briefcase would be like a tri- angle without a base. Looks as if he has his math papers all cor- rected. ' Coach and boys' gym instructor, Mr. Kelly seems to find science class a pure joy. He also organized and directed intramural noon hour sports this year. MATH AND SCIENCE With great ease and calm, Mrs. Rohloff explains why x plus y can't equal a plus b. We bet she doesn't find general math as calm as this algebra class. We doubt Mrs. Mortemore saw anything more attractive in that microscope than her biology students see every day. Agree? Cosines, equations, proofs - are these the inner thoughts that give Mr. Bergman that quizzical ex- pression? He is also athletic direc- lOl'. We sincerely trust that Mrs. Gordon's sec- ond year typing students find typing as pleasurable as their attractive teacher seems to find it. When not teaching typing and bookkeeping, Mrs. Gordon assists counselor Wigent. BUSINESS ..u. xp- wr g. iff: ,f:7' , . fs, - f r-. , 1. ,gg ', X ,. it if A-, , ,. Mrs. Whitesell relaxes in the teachers' lounge One wonders how she can seem so alert and vibrant after a session with all the office ma chines going at once. Her shorthand students find Mrs. Whitesell an interesting personality Mrs. Phelps has lust arrived to teach busi- ness to her freshmen, and by the expres- sion on her face, we think she enioys her class as much as the students do-on sec- ond thought, is she coming or going? UV f . Evidently personal typing students must learn to wield a screw driver. Comes natural to Mrs. Eisenman as she seems to have her eye on something besides her work. Could it be sixth hour typing students '? Mrs. Eisenman also teaches business English. The camera caught Mrs. Salter reading from Holmes' -famous Autocrat to her iunior literature students. Speech, iournal- ism, and senior English are also on her agenda. She is advisor to the paper and annual staffs. We do not know what she does in her spare time. We especially prize this picture because Miss Golembiewski is seldom as relaxed as this when in the library. Though small, our library is always in good order thanks to Miss UG. Freshmen, also, find her a very interesting and efficient English teacher. ,ls Even at leisure an English teacher corrects endless papers-in a thoughtful manner Mrs. Tussing separates the grain from the chaff. Mrs. Tussing also teaches world history and is sponsor of Bedford's very active Art Club. v - New to our staff this year, Mr. McCarberry finds junior English a challenging subiect- however, we wonder why he is standing so meditatively iust outside the door. Mr. Mc- Carberry is especially interested in Little Theater, and has appeared in several plays this season in Toledo's Little Repertoire Theater. Shades of Cleopatra, Caesar still has it good. Evidently Miss Kams is giving her Latin class a lesson on Roman background. ls she, perhaps, checking his dentures? The bulletin boards in the French room are always highly entertaining and interesting. Here Miss Goldberg poses ready to begin the French lesson. We were sorry to lose her at the close of first semester. Cupid was our rival. Q is This comely Spanish and English teacher, Miss Sweet, is new to Bed- ford this year, and iudging from this photo, she likes us as well as we like her. LANGUAGES - A M 5 ,.,........,c cc.. K -W-sr- W l an S l sf ,if . aw. Mrs. McDonald teaches French and ninth grade English. She was new on our faculty second semester, and we find her a very pleasing and worthwhile addition, and we hear by the grapevine that she likes us very much too. . . sxsssi-X-. Sewing can be fun, and it is for those who are in Miss Mowry's classes. Not only does she keep the girls in stitches, but she also teaches sophomore English. VOCATIONS Miss Felsted teaches senior home economics, and from the looks of this refrigerator, there's been something cooking, and it's time to go to market. Mr. Eyler is setting up a proiect for his drafting students. lf his expression surprises you, we hasten to add that he is also keeping on eye on study hall, vu hog? K Teaching ag. is his meat. lf you do not be- lieve us, take a look at the background. Director of Future Farmers of America, Mr. Struble has one of the most active groups in the state. His farm forum group won the district meet, and one of his students placed first in public speaking in the district, also. We sincerely trust that Mr. Derrer is getting this mallet to demonstrate its use to the shop class and not to use it himself. New to Bedford this year, Mr. Derrer is already one of us-well-liked by students and faculty. 5-A , M 3 K Q , X Qi , 5 girls f 3 Q, X . l 3 Q Each day, Mr. Wolodzko drives up and down the roads with drivers' training students. lt seems he is a bit skeptical about the next load, doesn't it? He also teaches math. As counselor, Mr. Wigent gives his attention to a seemingly very profound problem--judging from the look on his face. A teacher who enjoys teach- ing, Mr. Wigent insists on teaching Biology part of each day, even though he is so busy coun- seling. R Ts, .Y 25 l Mr. Starn, director of transportation, also teaches drivers' training. He seems calm as he stands near the trophy case awaiting a call. 59' Z Evidently the camera caught Mrs. Chapman during her free period, but look at that stack of grade cards ready to be made or marred. Must be an awful lot of econ. students. LUUNL. I L EUl.lNClL .6-.,,,,,.....-Q You would never believe that Mrs. Freiheit had taught girls' gym all morning if you glimpsed her so vibrantly teaching senior government fifth and sixth hour. Here she is explaining the United Nations. SOCIAL STUDIES We bet Mr. Hale is one of those people who can fold a road map with no effort at all. Here he shows the American History class where to find what. He also coaches basket- ball. Government takes on life and meaning when the teacher is as interested as Mrs. Johnson seems to be in this picture. Look at the pile of papers to be corrected. She is also advisor to the Inter-Club Council and to the cheer- leaders. Strike up the band says Mr. Holmes, direc- tor of Bedford's lOO piece marching band. He also directs all our concert bands. MUSIC Let's all sing like the birdies sing, says Mrs. Jobe fo her first hour choir. Mrs. Jobe also Teaches public school music.
