Because we are all crtrzens of the greatest democracy on thrs earth the United States of America One could list many qualrtres of fine leadership but rn my opinion loyalty sard and l quote rn part to the support of the Constitution let every American pledge hrs life hrs property and hrs sacred honor Let every man remember that to vrolate the law rs to trample on the blood of hrs fathers and to tear the Charter of hrs own and hrs children s lrberty let reverence for the Constrtutron be the political relrgron of the Nation and let the old and the young the rrch and the poor t re grave and the gay of all sexes and tongues and colors and condrtrons sacrrfrce unceasrngly upon rts altars tUnquoteJ May we rn our leadership always and ever follow these precepts It rs then and then only that we can have our small share rn makrng the World truly safe for democracy We must make those who follow us realrze the worth rn the words of Abraham Lincoln We must lead them down the straight path We will probably make mistakes but wrth the gurdrng hand of God upon us we can hope they wrll not be ones that can take the heart from Democracy We strll have much to learn but we are wrllrnq As our followrng must end so our leadrng must begrn We go wrth our heads hrgh and our hearts staunch fn conclusron parents teachers and friends you have done your part well now the resoonsrbrlrty lres wrthrn us It was yesterday We went into the dark tunnel groprng For knowledge as we followed those leadrng Now rt rs today And we emerge our goal there frndrng We turn back soon thrs trme to be leadrng Thank you Mary DuBry Orator 0 1 1 A -I F r -f V lf , ' 1 r ' l 1 .
