Yount, the superintendent of the Bedford City Schools, has, in the years of his work in Bedford, established himself among the leaders that have fostered, extended, and improved the school system of Bedford. During the period of Mr. Yount's superintendency the grade buildings have seen much beautification by landscaping, as has the high school. Builings have been improved, new machinery has been bought, new appliances for vocational departments have been purchased-all these having been made possible by the management and the well-balanced budgeting of Mr. Yount. The Bedford Schools have also been faced in the last few years by the retire- ment and the resignation of a number of their most able instructors, but through his knowledge, his influence, his judgment, and his superb management Mr. Yount has been able to keep up the traditional standards of Bedford's school teachers. The Pioneer , therefore, salutes you and your work, Mr. Yount. i' 1' 'k H. H. MOURER Distinguished in the services of Bedford School is Mr. Harry H. Mourer, our principal. For the eight years that Mr. Mourer has been in charge of Bedford High Shool it has made definite steps in inter-scholastic achievements. It has been during this period that students of Bedford High School have achieved outstanding scholastic, speech, dramatic, commercial, and journalistic awards, as well as those in sports. The success of Bedford's students can be accredited, to a large extent, to Principal Mourer-through his interest, his initia- tive, his competent management, and his cooperation with students and faculty. Mr. Mourer is also dean of boysg in this task he is equally competent. By his friendliness, his patience, his consideration, and his ability to understand the problems of the students he has gained their confidence and their support. The Pioneer of l938 salutes you, Mr. Mourer.
