The class of 1973 will be known for not only its typical members — the jocks, the brains, and the clowns — but for many who tried to bring back some life and meaning to the school community. This yearbook proudly presents our seniors, those who have hindered or helped in the making of the Class of 1973. They have been selected for their contributions to the class, school, and for the superlative qualities they possess. Semi-finalists also deserve a token of praise, for without their contributions this school year would have amounted to a lot less. But look ahead, for we now present with pride the Bedford Senior High School Hall of Fame. Mike loannou 42 Hall of Fame Janice Yurichak Hall of Fame 43 Jeff Day An outstanding leader with a good sense of humor and an outgoing personality. An active member and committee chairman in Student Senate during his underclassman years and president in his senior year, member of band, A Cappella Choir, National Honor Society, Key Club, Spanish Club, and the Fourth Estate Staff. Direct and involved, he assumes responsibilities and accepts the consequences. Lauren Jaekowitz Out of the spotlight Lauren has proved herself a reliable worker as Secretary of A Cappella Choir, a member of Quill and Scroll, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Fourth Estate Staff, and Treasurer of Student Senate. A quiet personality that always has time to be plea- sant. 44 HalI of Fame Bruce Jankura A well known athlete and a true leader, he has serv- ed the school in many ways. He is a two year letterman in football, track, and three years in wrestling. Student Senate representative, member of the Varsity B, and president of the Class of 73. Bruce has a personality people can respect and yet is able to be a good friend. Denise Booth A clear thinker who’s willing to give of herself in a direct and decisive way. She's served as class officer for two years, lettergirl in G.A.A., a member of the golf team. Student Senate, and Block B row cap- tain. Sensitive and understanding, she’s capable of doing whatever she sets her mind to. Hall of Fame 45 Tony Giamello Sensible, but never losing his sense of humor, Tony has led the class on and off the field. Three year letterman in football and wrestl- ing, Sophomore class president, student senate representative and committee chair- man, and president of Varsity B. Somewhat outspoken but firm in his ideals. Betty Misejko Her enthusiasm in cheerleading has brought a spark to school spirit. Class officer for three years, student senate representative, a member of shorthand club, girls glee, and has participated in G.A.A. and Friendship Club. Her smile makes you feel welcome in the most un- familiar situations. 46 Hall of Fame Denise Milkovich By not being afraid to get involved, Denise has been a great asset to the class and the school. She is captain of the wrestling cheerleaders, active in G.A.A., Girls’ Glee, and Student Senate. She participated in Spanish Club and a class officer in her sophomore and senior years. Whatever she does, she does well. Sam Pilato Whether on a baseball diamond or a football field Sam has brought fame to BHS through his outstan- ding athletic ability. He has served as a letterman in baseball, foot- ball, and track, an officer of DCT, member of V1CA and the Varsity B. His enthusiasm helps bring unity to the team effort. These girls have made it into part of Bedford’s history as respected and favored girls of the Senior class and entire school. We present here our queens of 1972-73. 70 Prom 1972 Prom A Romeo loves Juliet atmosphere floated through the 1972 Prom. Queen Bonnie and her attendants Corrine and Nancy added splendor to the events of dancing, feasting, and merriment. Enchanting Sophomore dancers held the mood by their costumes and dances of the period. As the evening came all too quickly to an end, we all knew in our hearts that it truly was “A Time For Us”. Prom 71 Homecoming 1971 Homecoming Queen, Pam Sohm gave up her reign at half time as she crowned her 1972 successor, Corrine Rongone. Corrine and her court of Debbie, Sue, and Nancy gave the sparkle necessary to brighten up the 1972 Homecoming defeat to our arch rivals, Men- tor. 72 Homecoming Homecoming 73 1972 Harvest Hop The “Canterbury Castle” set the scene with an aura of chivalry for the 1972 Harvest Hop. Each fair damsel and her shining knight were serenaded by the music of the Blue Stone Union. Excitement ran high in awaiting the announcing of the queen. At last the moment of coronation arrived — and Vickie Goshco reigned over her court, Becky, Caryn, and Jackie, for the remainder of a very romantic and splendid evening. 74 Harvest Hop Harvest Hop 75 76 Sweetheart Ball Bruce Jankura and Denise Milkovich reigned as King and Queen in their own minature world with their court: Denise Booth and Blair Melling, Mickey Parrino and Tony Giamello, senior attendants; Chris Fowler and Matt Bobby Junior atten- dants; and Cindy Allen and Brian Jankura, sophomore atten- dants. Our BHS cafeteria was transformed into many tiny nations with the theme “Love Makes the World Go ’Round”. Sweetheart Ball 77 78 Yearbook King Yearbook King and Queen Each year 6 girls’ and 6 boys’ pictures are selected from the Senior class for their photogenic qualities by the Yearbook inner staff. This year our 12 photographs that were chosen were sent to John Hambrick, who, through careful examination, chose our 1973 Yearbook King and Queen. Yearbook Queen 79 JUNIORS The class of ‘74’ started off the year with one year of high school life behind them. The traditional magazine drive was taken on and our class proved they were capable of equaling and surpassing the efforts of classes before them. This year was the last year before the respon- sibilities of a senior class will be taken on by the class of “74”. Their performance has shown that the talent that previously went to waste is now being used to capacity. We thank the swimmers for their hard work in practice and meets, which in turn brought B.H.S. many victories.
