Her home town is Johns- town, Pa. ii E 3' The art course offered in B.H,S, is designed with the idea of making it pcssible for students to express their individual personalities through their work. This, the students may do in several media-pencil, crayons, water colors, ink and pastels. It is remarkable to note that even beginning students in this department can and do achieve a high measure ot success in aesthetic expression. Mr. Vernon Wohnhas and Mrs. Ann Andrews are the instructors. Some students during the present year have made remarkable progress in working with linoleum blocks. The art department is equipped with all the paro- phernalia necessary for work in the field of ceramics and next year students will have the opportunity to study this branch of art.

LIBRARY The Library of Bedford l-ligh School is the largest and one of the most plea- sant rooms in our school for quiet study- ing and recreational reading. This year, being twice as large as it was last year, it enables more students to make use ot its facilities. Not only does the library have good facilities for research and reference work, but it contains a varied collection of books, periodicals, and newspapers tor reading enjoyment. Although Miss Sexton is librarian, she admits that she could not get along without her library assistants. The duties of the assistants are typing cards and pockets for in books, taking atten- dance, shelving books, and checking in mail. These assistants are senior high girls chosen from the Junior High Library Club where they have learned, in pre- vious years, the duties of a library as- sistant. A few ofthe assistants who are artistically inclined are given charge of the bulletin boards. sk. l .g. HARRIET J. SEXTON MISS HARRIET JACQUELYN SEXTON earned her B. S. in Li- brary Science from Milicrsvillc State Teachers' College in 1933: she is our high school 1ib1'a1'izm and came to us in the fall of 1955.
