Ed. degree from the University of Pittsburghg the has also taken courses from Juniata College and Penn Staley He has been with B. H. S. since the fall of 1942. MATH JOHN HEACOCK earned his B. S. degree from Lock Haven Teachers' College in 1952. Alter U. S. Army service and one year teaching. he came to B. H. S. in the fall of 1955 where he teaches advanced mathematics and assists in coaching the wrestling teams. DONALD KOONTZ came to B. H. S, in the fall of 1956: he instructs math classes: in 1954 he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Juniatag before coming here. he taught at Susquenita Joint Schools. A good foundation in math from the tirst tunda mentals to the advanced branches is very essential to every student in B H S -s

ART VERNON WOHNHAS VERNON WOHNHAS teaches art to our senior high school students. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carnegie Institute of Tech- nology and a Master of Education degree from the University of Pittsburgh, He came to B. H. S. in the fall of 1951. MRS. ANN ANDREWS MRS. ANN ANDREWS received her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State Teachers' Col- lege: she came to us in the fall of 1956. Here she supervises the teaching of art in the elementary schools of our Jointure. and spends part of her time teaching art to junior high school students in B.H.S. Before coming here. she taught at Dale Public Schools near Johnstown, and Replogle High School. Her home town is Johns- town, Pa. ii E 3' The art course offered in B.H,S, is designed with the idea of making it pcssible for students to express their individual personalities through their work. This, the students may do in several media-pencil, crayons, water colors, ink and pastels. It is remarkable to note that even beginning students in this department can and do achieve a high measure ot success in aesthetic expression. Mr. Vernon Wohnhas and Mrs. Ann Andrews are the instructors. Some students during the present year have made remarkable progress in working with linoleum blocks. The art department is equipped with all the paro- phernalia necessary for work in the field of ceramics and next year students will have the opportunity to study this branch of art.
