SCHOOL NURSE MISS MARY MORSE, R. N., came to BHS. in the fall of l935 and since that time she has been performing the duties of a school nurse in a highly efficient manner. She re- ceived her training in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Maryland, and Childrens' Hos- pital, Washington, D. C, and has taken graduate work at Penn State. Attendance Director MR. DAVID G. BEHRERS Mr. David G. Behrers came to Bedford High School in the fall of i928 as Principal of the Ele- mentary School. The following year, the first junior high school was formed and Mr. Behrers became its first Principal. The school was housed on the second floor of our present South Elementary Building. In i932 a new wing was added to the high school and the junior high school moved into it. Mr. Behrers continued as Principal until the spring of i938 when the position of principal in both the junior and senior high schools was abolished. Mr. Behrers then became Attendance Director for both high schools and has held the position to the present time. Of course, all through these years, Mr. Behrers has expertly taught mathematics to seventh and eighth grade students. MR. A. V. TOWNSEND B. S., M. S. High School Principal Mr. Arthur V. Townsend earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from what is now Pennsylvania State University. He first come to B. H. S. in the fall of l93l as an instructor of Vocational Agricul- ture. ln the spring of 1938 he became Area Supervisor of Vocational Agri- culture for Bedford and Blair Coun- ties. He continued in this position until the fall of l945 when he returned to our high school and resumed his teach- ing position. ln the fall of i948 he was elected Principal of Bedford High School, the first to fill the position since l938. Mr. Townsend is married and has one son, David, who is now in the United States Navy, and twin daughters, Jane and Ann, aged lo, who are in the sophomore class of B. H. S.

MARVIN BOLLMAN is a native of Bedford: he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree front Penn State in 1956 and came to us in the tall of the same year: he teaches English. MRS. LAURA BULLINGTON received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Juniata in lflilfig eaine to B. H. S. in the fall of lflziti where she teaches English: before eoniine here she taught in Everettg her home is in Blanns Choice. LANGUAGE MRS. ANNA LOUISE SMOKE is a native ot' Ever- ett: she received her Bache- lor ot' Arts degree from Junia- ta College and taught in Everett before coming to B. H.
