GCTOBER HOURS STAR ATHLETES The Bedford chapter of the National Athletic Scholarship Society was founded in 1936 to encourage athletes to improve their scholastic standing, Letter- men who have maintained an average of seventy- five or above for three previous semesters are eligible for membership. Each year seniors are presented with athletic charms as a reward for outstanding services The society's attractive pin is a familiar one, appearing more often than not on the sweater of a member of the fair sex. Oficers this year are Raymond Morgart, president 5 Bernard Beemiller, vice president and James Russell, secretary. STUDENT LAWMAKERS Leaning nonchalently against the desk, Bill Miller, president of the Student Council, Waits for the mem- bers to arrive. Presently he raps for order and secre- tary, Jane Slick, reads the minutes, which contain a list of the year's activities to be used at the coming convention, They find that they gave weekly pro- grams, held otllce of state treasurer, attended state convention at Harrisburg, took part in campaign to protect Bedford and aided in defense sale, The bell rings, and Louise Stroup, treasurer, moves to adjourn the meeting.
