The annual staff wish to thank the faculty, students, friends, and business houses whose cooperation with us has made this annual possible. TOE STALE Mare Barker Gene Barber Editor-in-Chief eel The Staff and its sponsor readily acquiesce to the opinion of all Beckvillians that the 1948 issue of the annual be dedicated to the Bearcats. The reason is obvious: The Bearcats won the district title their first season ater reactivation in 1946. Their second year they won the district and the bi-district honors without an op- posing score. They won the regional title with only one opposing touchdown scored. So to this team, Coach β€œLanky” Warren, the sub- stitutes, and the managers, this annual is respectfully dedicated in the hope that its 1947 record will prove a goal to succeeding elevens in Bearcatland. SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE The Beckvillian of 1947-48 represents the activities and achievements of the Beckville Schools during the past year. Surely our school system is not everything that we would like for it to be, but in looking back we find that much progress has been made, and, with the continued cooperation of all concerned, I feel that even greater progress can be shown in succeeding years. The whole School System salutes the Editor, Sponsor, and Staff for this fine portrayal of the activi- ties of our schools. Our best wishes for much happiness and success go with you Seniors of 1948. May your work and efforts in the future be such that they will reflect credit upon yourselves, your families, the High School which you are leaving, and your God. Sincerely, fips!
