OOTBALL! The sound of the word sends a thrill up everyone's spine, that is, of those who have had any- thing to do with the game. And at Beckley College everyone has experienced that thrill, for everyone was back of the team-yelling, screaming, and praying till the finish. It was the good coaching, coupled with the fighting spirit of both players and rooters, that made the successful season that Beckley College enjoyed this year on the gridiron. Coach George Snell, a former Penn State star, came to Beckley College with a wonderful reputation, only to add more to his fame. Snell formerly played with the Well-known Pottsville Maroons, once world championship team of pro- fessional ranks. Snell's description of football, as everyone will remember, is: It's a man's game, and, Dog eat dog and you eat 'em first. Snell had plenty of good material to work With, as there were several men back from last season. Mears, Barr, Rainey, Horchak, and McGinley were on hand at the first call, and plenty of new material was available. Coach Snell gave everyone a fair tryout. 2 1 A . 4, -. J HV. .
