Among the many ways the students reached out were the exchange student program, the March of Dimes campaign, Safe-Teens, and participation in the Veterans' Day ceremony. Panamero members were entertained by two Mexi- can exchange students doing a lively Latin American dance. The girls like BHS immensly, and, of course, BHS liked them. Carry a big stick and speak softly isn't the policy here as rival Beaver and Spartan cheerleaders enjoy a coke. This was part of BHS good neighbor cam- paign. Though sprinkled lightly with rain. the Veterans' Day ceremony went off on schedule with a one- minute period of silence at eleven o'clock. Because foxy seniors contributed most to the March of Dimes, Martha was crowned queen of the Polio Drive with a glittering tiara of dimes. Safe-Teen bumper stickers started roaming around Beaverton in December and by May they roamed e whole state, not to mention Mexico, Canada, an West Orange, N. I. Several promoters were chosen from the student body to speak to other s ool about Iustice Cook's baby. Re- turning students didn't recognize the building as it had sprouted new wings in several directions. The entrance to the newly erected auditorium be- came the focal point of the school as BHS spread out. This year the office had the new wrap-around look with the panoramic view. lt took a long time for Mrs. Day to wash the pudgy little nose prints from the window. Although it wasn't used much this year, the audi- torium isn't likely to stay empty very long. Workmen even had to step over and between students while it was being finished. Dim, Dim the lights, was the cry from the darkroom when somebody opened the wrong door. Photo stu- dents were apparently as happy as clams with their new equipment and facilities. and Iimenaiona of the Lui - , I A . ng expand with Jlucfenl inffux ', -rug duff- J UL, fffkxfzxf ill-m x N U' ff diffs!
