THE WAY TO A STUDENTS HEART Long lines, good food, and friendly cooks typify BHS's ultra-modern cafeteria, one of the finest in Oregon. It is equipped with the latest new appliances, including a dish- washer that washes 6250 dishes an hour. Student helpers were Al Taylor, Mel Mori, Leota Cogswell, Anna Savage, Wayne Kolstad, Diane Smith, Martha Evans, and Stanley Wilson. The favorite food of the students was, in '51-'52, as always, hot dogs, ice cream, and desserts made in home economics classes. The few items never seen on the trays were olives, and salt and pepper shakers. Besides being used as a daily lunch room, the cafeteria contributed its facilities to or- ganizations such as churches, Iunior Cham- ber of Commerce, Safeway stores, Boy Scout meetings, TYV Press Club meetings, Y- Teens, Senior breakfasts, football banquets, after-game dances, and band practices.
