Working in hay fields, car hopping, ranch and yard work, moving pipe, babysitting, and various other lines of employment filled the days as well as the coffere. There were always plenty of leisure hours which were spent in cycling, swimming, tennis, hiking, camping, and vaca- tioning with the family. There was regret at seeing this season pass. Each was reminded of the three reasons why summer was the best season of the year. . . June, July, and August. Sharri Abston Gina Anderson Lori Archer Paul Anders Jill Anderson Shane Ascheman Timid was the word for the freshman as he found his way to the green fortress in the fall of '76. He was much relieved to learn there was no initiation, but he soon sensed that he was definitely a fourth class citizen. His courage seeped back as the year progressed. He learned he could build an adequate float, pick good queen candidates, and in general earn his right to be a fine citizen of BCHS. New flag and pole presented by the Beaver Booster Club. Opening Ceremonies. Mixed company in senior girls skit. Stan and Lance, enterprising seniors, with a float of their own making. ACTIVITIES FILL THE DAY on the march. The seventeenth of September was the fall extension of a summer day. Nothing is so fair as a day in Indian Summer. The sun was warm and yet there was a hint of fall in the air. Fans crowded the new stadium to back their team to the first home victory. The day had already been crammed with a pep assembly, a parade, the judging of the floats, the judging of the hall decorations, and a picnic in the park, courtesy of the Key Club. Just before game time a color guard accompanied the presentation of a new flag and pole by the Beaverhead Booster Club. At half time the band and Golden Girls entertained an excited crowd. Carol Barnes was proclaimed the monarch to reign over the 1976 Home- coming festivities. senior girls' skit. Stacy, 1977 Rosebowl Queen? 1976 Grads come home for Homecoming. 17 BUILDERS SPEND HOURS ON FLOATS For weeks ideas were hashed and re-hashed as organizations met to de- termine float themes. Competition ran high between classes, but the Junior class’s theme ’’Seal ’Em Up Beavers’’ turned out to be a winner. The hard- workers stuffed napkins, Kleenex, and crepe paper in their sleep for nights afterwards. By evening floats were for- gotten until next Homecoming when new ideas would emerge. Junior class float places first in Homecoming parade. BEAVERS ARE SOUTHERN A CHAMPS WMt VARSITY FOOTBALL, First Row: R. Fisk, manager; R. Richardson, manager; T. Strozzi, C. Devlin, A. Hilton, K. It may not always be easy, but if you believe in your dream, if you learn the art of getting along with and serving your fellow man, and if you have the willingness to stand squarely on your feet and battle it out with whatever comes your way, someday that wonderful imagined place in your mind will no longer be a dream. You’ll be there. Good luck to all of you. This Midas Class turned everything they touched to gold. At Homecoming time they won the first place honors in decorating the halls, and their float was also number one. It was the Junior Candidate who ruled over Homecoming. Because they exceeded all former magazine sales, plans went underway early for the best prom ever. 86 Harriet Burwell Gaylene Chessick Erik Christianson Barbara Colton Sheila Conover David Cottom Nancy Cox Terry Dahl CLASS OFFICERS: Laurie Eckman, treasurer; Russ Richardson, secretary; Yogi Fjeseth, yell leader; Jim McNally, president; Steve Winden, vice-president. Enticing decoys bring ducks up close hide, silence! Firell Two shots ring out the beating of wings only one falls, just one the dog goes out to bring the duck back in a very stately manner. Now, waiting, watching, wondering . . . You add three more ducks to your credit day is now nearing end, soon serenity will return, til morn. But you will have serenity for the rest of eternity . . . You with God, on the mountain by the lake, in peace with yourself. Remember, it’s more efficient for most appliances to operate at full capacity. Use full loads in washer, dryer, dishwasher. Keep your freezer full. Avoid oven and refrigerator peeping.
