SKI CLUB Provided Lift For Ski Teams The Beaverhead County High School Ski Club had a very successful and active year. Under the guidance of Mr. Wolf, the club sponsored a lamb raffle and with the proceeds purchased blue and gold sweatsuits for the Ski Team. The Ski Club sponsored the Snow Dance. Gate keepers, and officials for the State Ski Meet held at Rainy Mountain in March were provided by the Ski Club. Officers for the year were President, Jim Hagenbarth; Vice President, Bill Burwell; Secretary, Judy S lden- sticker; Treasurer, Mary Ed Nichols; Membership Chairman, Ray Barnes. The State Judging Team — Tom Peterson, Allen Martinell, and Walter Zobell — participated in the State FFA Conven- tion at Bozeman. The Winter Fair Judging Team — Rich Jackson, John Glaus, Walter Zobell, Allen Martinell, Wayne Else, and John Rieber (not pictured) — competed in live- stock and meats judging at Bozeman. Monte Clemow, Chapter Star Farmer and State Star Farmer, received a $200 scholarship at the State FFA Convention in Bozeman. The capable new officers for the 1967-1968 year are (Seated) Wayne Else, 2nd vice president; Allen Martinell, president; Bradley Briggs, 1st vice president; Standing: D. J. Smith, sentinel; Alan Eck, reporter; Tom Peter- son, parliamentarian; and Walter Zobell, secretary. (Not pictured: Bob Shaffner, treasurer) Mr. Irish is giving Chip Camp some helpful hints on his building. Everyone enjoyed the annual Parent-Son Banquet at which the FHA girls served. RODEO CLUB Marked Reorganization The Rodeo Club was re-organized this year and had forty-one members. It was originally designed to create an interest by high school students for rodeo events. The group plans to send a member to the State High School Rodeo competition; any BCHS member qualifying for National competition will automatically be assisted financially bv the Club- Officers for the year were President, David Glaus; Vice President, Jock McDowell; and Secretary-Treasurer, Mary Ed Nichols. Mr. Alden Irish was the sponsor. TRAPSHOOTERS Earned National Recognition Tom Peterson and Walter Zobell, talented Beaverhead County High School trapshooting juniors, have left a prominent mark in this sport throughout the United States. Tom's honors include the following championships: SINGLES: 1965— Washington State Class C; Wyoming State Open Junior; Alberta Province Open Sub-Junior; Montana State Junior; 1966— Elk's Tri-State Junior; Western Zone Runner-Up, Junior and Class A; HANDI- CAPS: 1965— Raymond A. Smith Sub-Junior; Robert M. Barrett Championship; 1966— Golden West Grand, third place; Zip Eaton Handicap; TEAMS: Junior All-American, honorable mention; and Junior All-State Co-Captain of Montana. Walter's achievements are the Golden West Grand Junior Championship, Montana Junior Champion; Junior Co- champion of the Montana State Team; and Junior Cham- pion of the doubles in the Barrett Memorial Trapshoot. Tom and Walter Sponsored by HERMAN PETERSON, Dillon In addition to their rare talents as trapshooters, both have earned equal acclaim as enthusiastic sportsmen.
