KEY CLUB Benefited Community Programs The Key Club, a service organization affiliated with the Kiwanis International, is dedicated to working for a better school and community. Several projects kept the Key Club members busy throughout the year — painting parking lanes around the high school and hospital, raking the hospital lawn, conducting the auto safety check pro- gram and the Honda raffle sale, assisting in the Kiwanis apple sale, and installing bleachers at the football field. The members also assisted with various services in the following programs: county fair, a magician show, local Blood Drawing, hospital carnival, and the school bond election. In October Marc Sanders and Jim Hagenbarth attended a training session in Bozeman. Dillon Key Club delegates attending the state convention in April were Van Stallman, Kerry Koenig, and Bob Hazeltine. Phil Hawk- ins attended the National Key Club Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, in June. Officers for the 1966-1967 year were President, Marc Sanders; Vice President, Jim Hagenbarth; Secretary, Dave Glaus; and Treasurer, Jock McDowell. Mr. Gile Mitchell was the Key Club adviser. STUDENT COUNCIL Authored Novel Projects The Student Council trains and helps students to understand the management of school affairs. Under the excellent supervision of Mr. Ankeny, the Student Council conducted various school activities -- Homecoming Bonfire and Dance, Crowning of the Home- coming Queen, initiating an annual ’’Hush Day, ” purchasing and installing American flags in all of the classrooms, re-decorating the Recreation Center, sponsoring the annual Orientation Day, and promoting school spirit throughout the entire school year. HONOR SOCIETY Marked Expansion Growth was the key word in activities of the National Honor Society. During an effec- tive candlelight ceremony nineteen new members were inducted in December. In order to promote scholarship in the Junior High, a National Junior Honor Society was initiated by the senior group. This was perhaps the first organization of its kind in Montana. An Honor Bowl was held in the spring of the year. Officers for the year were President, Jim Feathers; Vice President, Marc Sanders; Secretary, Margaret Stahl; Treasurer, Robin Bonneau; Historian, Patty Carlson. Mr. Robert Wolf was adviser.
