THE B ... a project which was initiated by the B Club but whose work could not have been completed without the helping hands of many Beaverhead County High School students. Typical of Dillon’s commercial development during the year of 1964-1965 are the attractive new business structures pictured on the opposite page. ABOVE and at the RIGHT are two of the many new innovations that took place at Beaverhead County High School this past year. BCHS students worked closely with their business neighbors in expanding -- Future nurses provided valuable morale builders for the Eventide Rest Home patients- students compiled data for Montana Power Company use; and students served as a vital source of labor supply for summer forestry projects. As the high school youth helped the community, so the community assisted the students in many of their projects -- the Bureau of Land Management provided land for the B ; residents of Dillon were willing customers for band candy, Thespian plays, sports events and concerts; citizens helped to assure fine skiing facilities for students. BCHS and the community of Dillon have found them- selves working together in many ways -- the Key Club raked the Barrett Hospital lawn in the spring; the Elks Club provided food and entertainment after the prom and graduation exe.rcises; student typists assisted with the Red Cross Blood Drawing; and city and county officials cooperated with the Elks in allowing the Seniors to fill city and county posts on Government Day, usually held in May. This wonderful cooperation between our high school and the community has helped youth to understand adults and adults to understand youth. THE NEW OFFICIAL SCHOOL SEAL . . . drawn by Coach James Corr and adopted by the Student Council; the emblem will serve the school for many years.

Administration Congratulations to the Class of 1965! This class, the largest to date in the history of the school, has definitely set a number of records and goals for future classes. In the four years you have spent in Beaverhead County High School, you--as a class--have been above average to excellent in all areas. Working with an excellent faculty, you have excelled in scholastic achievement, and you have been outstanding in extra-curricular activities. The Class of ’65, working with the B Club, left its mark with a large block B on the hill overlooking the valley. The athletes, under the able direction of an excellent coaching staff, established numerous records for future classes to shoot at; the same is true in Music, Speech, Drama, Home Ec, Vo Ag, and other activities. I know you will continue to excel as you go out, whether it be college, business, ranching, or other fields, which are opened to you as high school graduates. Keep up the good work and I assure you that the school and community will be watching your growth and success with pride and assurance. Best wishes, PRINCIPAL B. W. LODGE
