GEORGE RED” PETTIT Our 1964 Beaver is dedicated to a man who has worked hard the past 22 years to keep our school immaculate. This man has been a friend, a counselor, and a disciplinarian to hundreds of high school students. In his year of retirement, we hope in some small way to acknowledge the years of service to our school; so to you, Red Pettit, we dedicate our book. With this dedication go our gratitude and our most sincere wishes for the best in the future. 3

We, the editors and staff of the 1964 Beaver, present this book to the students of Beaverhead County High School. We sincerely hope that our theme, Widening Hor- izons, will bring to you, in years to come, fond memories of your high school days. For Beaverhead High, the year 1964 was one of growth--we achieved the largest en- rollment in the school’s history; we gained additional teachers and students; and new organizations were formed. The 1964 Beaver contains a record of these changes-- changes which prove that we are truly widening our horizons.
