Sophomore Class History On September 7, 1954, sixty-two quiet and friendly freshmen filled the halls of Beaverhead County High School. They received their initiation to the amuse- ment of the student body. Friday night they were fully welcomedwhen the sophomores sponsored the Fresh- man Mixer. The freshmen then returned the dance. The following officers were elected for the year: Bob D'Evelyn, president; Donna Lee Given, vice-president; Mary Garrison, secretary; and Gary Swartz, treasurer. Chuck Tolson was chosen for Student Council, Shirley Cote as yell leader, and Mary Garrison was Harvest Queen candidate. Bette Mockel and Bruce Thomas were chosen for Red Cross Council and Mr. Scott and Sponsored by Dr. Monger ROW 1: Gary Swartz, Bruce Thomas. Delores Piazzola, Bette Mockel, Danny Rebish, Davis Bostwick. Roberta Lee, Kay Waldemar, Verna Rose, June Packer. Beverly Perusich. ROW 2: Steve Henderson, Dick Brundage, Bill Sweeny, Louise Rebish, Betty Sorenson, Phyllis Taylor, Jeannette Prohosky. Gayle Wheat, Mrs. McCullum were class sponsors. The Sophomore year they came with sixty-six strong. They gave the freshmen their initiation and Friday gave them a dance. The Harvest Queen candi- date for this year was Sonja Holland. The class officers were Bob D'Evelyn, president; Sonja Holland, vice-president; Bette Mockel, secretary, Walton Peterson, treasurer; and Fred Backus, yell leader. The Student Council representatives were Mary Garrison and Bruce Thomas; and Don Puyear was e- lected to Beaver Lodge Committee. Betty Mockel and Danny Rebish were on the Red Cross Council. Miss Nelson and Miss Christy were class sponsors. Lorna Simpson, Mary Kay Straugh, Buttons Nowlin. ROW 3: Jerry Rutledge, Bob Wallace, Don Puyear, Ricky Riebhoff, Ruben Waters, Bob Tysdal.
